Workshop & Concert: Grisha Goryachev, Hands-on Classical and Flamenco Technique Workshop
Grisha Goryachev will give a general workshop that can benefit all guitarists who are interested in learning about Grisha's guitar techniques and some flamenco as well. Part one will consist of Foundation techniques, such as tone production, arpeggios, tremolo, picador, and scales. Part two will cover the Flamenco techniques rasgueado, golpe, alzapua, and Flamenco rhythms-palos. https://www.grishaguitar.us

Concert: Nick Cutroneo, Solo Classical Guitar at Marlborough Arts Center
Marlborough Arts Center - 4th Friday @ the Arts Cafe presents classical guitarist Nick Cutroneo in a concert titled "Old and New Legends." Nick studied with Antigoni Goni at Juilliard, and earned his Bachelors and Masters in Guitar Performance at The Hartt School. In addition to serving on the CCSU faculty, Nick maintains his private teaching studio, Nick Cutroneo Guitar Studio.
Program: Works by Colin Britt, Dyens, Andrew York, Rodrigo, Wallace, and Tedesco.

Concert: Duo Orfeo, Joseph Ricker & Jamie Balmer
Playing a rare and eclectic repertoire on both classical and electric guitars, Duo Orfeo, Jamie Balmer and Joseph Ricker draws their repertoire largely from hidden and under-explored byways of western musical tradition both past and present, ranging from Renaissance lute and French harpsichord music, to compositions by modern masters such as Arvo Part and others.

Performance Development Class: By Judy Handler & Mark Levesque, Guitarists
The main purpose of this class is to work on performance skills and learn how to handle the stress and anxiety that can arise while performing in front of others. Past Performance Classes have provided students with a more practical and confident approach in their playing. The class is primarily aimed toward classical guitarists, but is open to all levels and guitar styles, and other related instruments. During the class many effective strategies for performing will be taught, along with discussion about practicing and other related topics. There will also be time for personal coaching on specific pieces if the student is interested.
