June 21-24 - Four Days - 3 Locations in Connecticut

Candlewood Farm Arts Foundation Solstice Guitar Symposium 

Four day long classical guitar festival featuring private lessons, master classes, and concerts. Teachers and performers include Patrick Kearny, Christopher Ladd, & Dr. Andrew Zohn.

Festival: Boston GuitarFest 2018

Guitarists of all ages and levels will participate in a variety of available programs that include lessons, ensembles, workshops, competitions, masterclasses, and concerts. In addition to a lineup of incredible guest artists performing in both New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall and Northeastern University's Fenway Center, Eliot Fisk and Joaquin Clerch premiere a new double concerto by Boston GuitarFest Composer-in-Residence Robert Beaser.

The Boston Classical Guitar Society holds monthly performance parties for members. These parties have a low pressure, nonjudgemental, and welcoming environment where players of all levels can perform in front of other guitarists. It is also a great place to hear a wide repertoire of pieces and to get to know people who are passionate about the guitar. All levels of guitar playing are welcome from beginner to professional.

Concert: Radius Ensemble w/Aaron Larget-Caplan, Classical Guitar

Radius Ensemble presents Solace playing the music of Golijov, Ruehr, Castelnuovo-Tedesco, and Shostokovich. Guitarist Aaron Larget-Caplan will play the Ecologues by Castelnuovo-Tedesco for flute, English horn and guitar.

The main purpose of this class is to work on performance skills and learn how to handle the stress and anxiety that can arise while performing in front of others. Past Performance Classes have provided students with a more practical and confident approach in their playing. The class is primarily aimed toward classical guitarists, but is open to all levels and guitar styles, and other related instruments. During the class many effective strategies for performing will be taught, along with discussion about practicing and other related topics. Helpful articles will be handed out. There will also be time for personal coaching on specific pieces if the student is interested.

     Judy Handler is a guitarist with decades of professional performance experience, is co-founder of the Connecticut Guitar Society and has a Master of Music Degree in Classical Guitar from The Hartt School.
